OLA Conference 2014 in Salem!

Hello Library Tech Round Table!

It was great seeing some of you at the Oregon Library Association’s Annual Conference last week! We had a brief meeting on Thursday, and it was a treat to meet some of our members face to face, and have the opportunity to catch up with our current members and friends.

We hope that if you were able to attend, that you enjoyed the sessions and the hospitality. The conference committee worked so hard and did such a great job! Here at LibTech RT, we were pleased to have been able to co-sponsor Aaron Schmidt, for the UX Bootcamp at the pre-conference on Wednesday. We also sponsored a session by our very own Sara Q. Thompson called “Social Media for Professional Engagement”. Thank you Sara!! We also got behind some wonderful presenters at “Open Source in Oregon Libraries” and we also co-sponsored “Maker Spaces: Make My Day or Break My Space?”.

If you missed any of these fabulous presentations, we will have all our conference material up on Northwest Central http://nwcentral.org/, so go check it out!

In addition to the sessions that we were very proud to sponsor, we also hosted a table at the conference, where we got to demo some very cool new toys! Library Box and Awesome Box were on display and lots of people got to drop by and test drive.

Thanks again to everyone involved with making the conference such a great success.

Now that we’re back and reenergized, we will try not to let this blog be dormant for so long. Let us know if there’s anything you would like to post to the blog, we look forward to hearing from you!
